Home of the Rowdy Riders Saddle Club
Hey everyone. There's something I think you would really like to see. I found it when I googled walk a mile arena. Keep scrolling down the page until you come to Day 145 - 10/16/11- Cowboy church and Olney Springs or you can go to hikinghumanitarian.com/day/145-101611 . This man and his wife were hiking by here with their big old backpacks all loaded down. I asked them if they wanted to rest here for awhile but they were trying to get to the Avondale Methodist church before dark so I invited them to come back Sunday for our Grand Opening. The lady they were staying with in Olney Springs brought them to church on Sunday. Click on the video part of it. It is just too cool. Let me know what you think.
Hey everyone, I just wanted to remind you that due to the chill in the air in the evenings, we will now start our rides on Saturdays starting at 11 am. Also On October 16th , our Cowboy Church will have it's Grand Opening at 10 am with a pig roast luncheon following the service. If you would like to bring a side dish, it would be appreciated. After the luncheon, we will be doing exhibition barrels, jackpot barrels and a Jr./Sr. roping followed by a #12 roping. We're also going to try and have goat roping for the little ones. We will also be doing a silent auction and if you have something you might want to donate to that or if you plan on bringing a side dish, please let me know. On October 29th, I will hold my member appreciation luncheon. This is a free pasta luncheon for my members. Members are welcome to bring guests but there is a $5 charge for adults and I need to know at least a week ahead of time so I can plan on how much food to have. Non-members that are coming out for the games can also eat for the $5 charge but I would like an RSVP. Our games will consist of a costume parade on foot and on horses, Free Style Reining to music. Costume recommended but not required. You must bring your own music and have your cd marked with your name and the song number. Bloody hand off relay race, the rat race (like the flag race but we use black rats, tandem barrels, the egg race and the water race. Please feel free to pass this information along. This is a fun day with no payouts, but we will be giving out prizes. Members $10 and non-members $15 includes all events. If you have any questions, please email or call me 947-3248. Come out and have fun and wear a costume. Phyllis
