Saturday Oct. 18th. at noon, our events will be the Jellyfish, shoestring, barrels, open barrels, poles and open poles. Come on out. Non-members and spectators are always welcome.
Sunday, Oct 19th., 4-S Gathering cowboy church 10 am followed by bbq lunch ($5) and then a ranch rodeo. Come out and enjoy.

Walk-A-Mile Arena is  a great venue for all horse enthusiasts including barrel racers, pole benders and other gymkhana participants. Our facility is also utilized for team roping, mounted shooting and horse and cart events.We are located 14 miles east of Pueblo, Colorado on Business Hwy 50 East and 2 miles west of Avondale. We offer a horse motel and monthly horse boarding. .

 There are two Saddle Clubs that ride here. The Rowdy Riders Saddle Club's season begins on Saturday, March 1st. 2014. at noon. We will ride for the month of March during the day because it's still so cold in the evenings. On April 4th.., 7 pm, we will start our Friday night rides. Our Friday night rides consist of 6 speed events, two assorted and two barrels and two poles. Our speed events are jack potted therefore we do not do year end awards. We have age group divisions. Lead line is not jackpotted but ribbons and a goody is awarded, 8 & under, 9-13, 14-17, seniors, 50 and over and we offer a men's group also.Membership dues are $50 Family and $35 individual. There is a $5 discount offered if your dues are received before the 1st ride.The event fees are $1 lead line, all others are $2 per event. You can enter each event as many times as you want to pay for. Every one must abide by the arena rules. As a member of the Rowdy Riders, you will have free access of the arena to practice by appointment.

The West Pueblo Saddle Club rides here on Thursday evening, Their shows begin at 7 and consist of 3 events and time allowing, they will do a jackpot barrels or jackpot poles. WPSC alternates with two speed events and one judged and one speed event and two judged. This club gives nice year end awards and they are accepting new members. They are on the internet or you can find their link on this page.

Some of the amenities that Walk-a-Mile offers is we have clean portapotties (handicap accessible) A play area for the kids, great ground, (we have the best barrel racing ground in town.), a concession and a tack shop on site. Tack-N-More offers new and used saddles, tack, boots , hats and clothing. I work on consignment so if you have items to sell, please contact me.

 Our facility is also home to the 4-S Gathering Cowboy Church. Our preacher is Jake Shue and our services are on Sunday's at 10 am. Non-denominational so every one is welcome..The church always has great guest speakers and musical guests.

WALK-A-MILE ARENA RULES

 

  1. Safety is the #1 rule. Please, we do not want anyone getting hurt.
  2. No littering especially cigarette butts. Please use trash receptacles that are provided. We want to keep our place nice and clean.
  3. Good horsemanship should be used at all times. No abusive behavior towards your horses will be allowed. That means no excessive whipping, spurring, jerking or inhumane tack.
  4. No alcohol or intoxicated persons will be allowed on premises. Offending parties will be asked to leave.
  5. Parents or guardians are responsible for their children. Please advise them of all the rules. Ask them not to break or take toys from play area.
  6. Members and non-members must advise their guests of all rules.
  7. No profanity or harassing behavior will be tolerated. Report this to office or show managers.
  8. No loping in vehicle parking lots. Horses are not allowed in car parking lot or spectator area.
  9. Respect landscaping. Ask children not to get in flowerbeds and not to break branches off trees and don’t let horses eat trees.
  10. Keep dogs leashed! Owners will be responsible for cleaning up dog messes.
  11. Do not tie horses to arena panels. Tie them secure to trailer. Do not block office gate area. Stand away from arena gate entrance. No horses will be allowed to run into or out of arena.
  12. If your horse is a kicker, use red ribbon on tail and if he bites, please advise those around you. Be considerate and avoid potential problems.
  13. No one under age of 21 may ride or handle stallions at arena. Stallions must be in total physical control at all times. Do not tie to trailer, put inside trailer.
  14. Please stay in arena fenced area.
  15. Western boots are required for participants in all events. It’s a safety factor.
  16. No making out in parking lots. (Little eyes may be watching).
  17. We want everyone to have a good and safe time here at Walk-A-Mile. Remember you are a guest on this property, please treat everyone and our place with the same respect you would expect.
